Better late than never

Sorry it has taken me (us) so long to post again. We have been so busy the past couple of weeks and just haven't been able to find the time to post.
Our new updates... Zech finished his soccer season on the 7th. Unfortunately, his team didn't fare any better than Tyler's. They lost as well, but Cris said they played a really good game. He hasn't heard anything from his basketball coach, but we expect to soon. His team had a small awards ceremony at CiCi's Pizza on November 14. It was just his coach, the team, and their families. The coach passed out their awards and then it was a free-for-all. I think they really enjoyed it though. The awards were nice, medals with a soccer ball picture on the front & it had a red, white & blue ribbon to go around his neck. He also had his cougar run awards on November 18. He won numerous small items and his big item was a $50 savings bond for running the most laps. He did a really good job! His school raised $55,000 on this fundraiser.
Kyla has decided to join Girl Scouts. For those of you who don't know what this is, I'm not really sure how to explain it. :) Basically, a group of girls (same age) meet about twice a month & usually have various activities to do. They may do crafts or work on earning one of their "petals". These may be a lesson on honesty or friendship. They may have camping trips, but I'm not sure at this age. It will be a nice way for Kyla to do her own thing.
Tyler had his football award ceremony the same night as Zech's soccer ceremony. Tyler's was a little more planned and it included the entire league. (Football is a really big deal here) It was nice. Each of the boys received a nice trophy with their name and jersey number on it. There were also awards for certain categories, but Tyler didn't win any of those. He also received a nice sweatshirt with the team's name on it. We weren't able to stay the entire time, just long enough to see Tyler's team, because Emma was getting cranky. Apparently, they didn't get finished until about 8:30 & it started at 7 p.m. Tyler has also started his basketball.
Emma still isn't walking & no new teeth. She has started saying the word "hi." It's really cute. She just hasn't done anything new yet.
We are still steadily working away at getting my mom moved in. The official move in day is December 3. We are almost finished on our end other than a few things.
We had the Daniel side of my family over on November 19. We've been doing this for a couple of years now. It really isn't anything big. More or less, just a way for that side of the family to visit with each other since we now only get together at Christmas time.
The weather finally turned cold & we finally got a little rain. The rain was nice & it was nice to finally feel like fall/winter. The bad part is that now all of the kids have colds. Yuck!
Thanksgiving is this Thursday. The house is already cleaned (thankfully) so we don't have much to do. I'm going to keep a little bit of a closer eye on Cris cooking the turkey this year. Last year, it wasn't completely cooked & to make himself feel better - he bought a new laptop computer. We will host at our house and it will be the immediate family.
Since Thanksgiving is almost here, we (I) can start decorating for Christmas. YEAH! This year we are attempting to hang lights outside. So far, we haven't had much luck. If this weekend is nice, we are going to try again. After Thanksgiving, I can put the tree up.
Cris and I have spent all of our time taxiing the children around for numerous events. In the middle of that, we have been busy rearranging the house, doing schoolwork (me) and work (Cris). So... I believe that is all of the news I have at the moment. Hopefully, I haven't forgotten much and hopefully, it won't be so long between posts next time.
