Happy Birthday to Me

I'm a day late, but that's ok. It was a nice day yesterday.
Cris woke up at 1:30 yesterday morning - all excited about my birthday. He couldn't go back to sleep and so at 3:30 a.m. he was putting together the book shelf he got me for my birthday. How sweet is that?
After everyone else was up for the day, we spent the day getting ready for Christmas Eve. (All of the family will come over today and we will celebrate our Christmas then). Kyla & I spent a little time baking cookies for Santa and as a little gift for the neighbors. We cleaned the house. We had decided earlier in the month that we would like to take the kids to Opryland hotel to see the lights. We've been and wanted to go again as well.
So last night was the only night we could think of when we would have all of the kids. We didn't mention it to the kids because it wasn't 100% definite given how the flu was floating around. In the end, we were all well enough to go, but we still didn't tell the kids. We didn't tell them where we were actually going until we go to the Cracker Barrel in Nashville. It was a rather quick trip through the hotel because it is alot of walking and Emma was getting tired rather quickly. Even so, we had a wondeful time. Maybe next year we can plan a little better and maybe we can even take the kids to see the Fantasy on Ice.
